Senior Electriconics Engineer
This is a senior level position focused on the design of motion
controllers and associated electronics for piezo-actuated
nano-positioners being developed by nPoint. This is a great opportunity
for a seasoned engineer to join a highly motivated, cooperative team and
assume design ownership of product electronics. We are looking for a
self-starting team player that thrives on driving and owning designs
from concept through production support.
Responsibilities will cover a range of engineering work including
specification assessment, hardware and firmware design, verification
testing and generation of all required documentation. Specific design
work will include development of mixed-signal control systems using
high-performance ADCs and DACs as well as DSPs, FPGAs and low-noise
analog front ends. Working closely and collaboratively with software,
control and mechanical engineers as well as production personnel in
various aspects of product development will be critical to success.
Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
Essential Skills:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred; Other
relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a BSEE

5+ years demonstrated experience in both analog and digital
electronics design with emphases on high-resolution, high-accuracy,
low-noise data acquisition and control is required

Successful electronics development track record in a
cross-functional team environment, including all phases of development
and product support is required

Ability to work productively with minimal supervision is
essential

Ability to multitask and manage one’s personal priorities is
essential

Appreciation of the value of collaboration and personal growth
opportunities in cross-functional team development is essential

Proficiency in schematic capture is required; OrCAD experience
is preferred

Familiarity with PCB design tools such as PADS is preferred

Circuit simulation proficiency using tools such as Pspice is
desired

Ability to manage a project, including scheduling, cost
estimates, and tracking project details is desired

Familiarity with DSP hardware and firmware design is a plus
-
Experience designing control systems and drives with modern
topologies is preferred

Experience with EMC compliance including design and
qualification testing is preferred

Experience with Matlab and Simulink is a plus
